Description:
This course is an introduction to control theory focusing on linear
time-invariant (LTI) systems. Although we mainly study single-input
single-output (SISO) systems, some of our analysis for SISO systems can be
extended to multi-input multi-output (MIMO) systems. In this course,
we study LTI, SISO systems in three different representations, namely, state-space, Laplace domain, and Frequency
response. In each representation, different techniques for studying
controllability, observability and stability of the system are
developed. At the end, the notion of feedback is introduced and the role of uncertainty in stability of systems is analyzed.
